Advantages of fertility treatment

Fertility treatment is often the only way to the help patients who would be otherwise unable to conceive. The goal of fertility treatments is achieving a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Fertility treatments can make this a reality:

• For example, IVF is the best opportunity for women with blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, polycystic ovary syndrome or endometriosis.
• Couples with a serious male infertility problem will have a much higher chance of conceiving with using fertility treatments than naturally. We have several analysis methods and treatment options to facilitate this: Sperm DNA-fragmentation test, intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and Physiological Intracytoplasmic Sperm.
• IVF/ICSI can be used with patients who have low ovarian reserve to maximize the chance of becoming pregnant.
• For couples who are concerned about passing on genetic disorders or chromosomal abnormalities to their children have the advantage to use pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGT) fertility treatment. IVF with PGT is one of the most reliable way to ensure already before embryo transfer, that a child will not suffer from the disorder. Pre-implantation genetic screening (PGT-A) improves the chance of a successful outcome as it screens embryos for chromosomal disorders such as Down’s syndrome. • For single women or same-sex couples who wish to have a child, undergoing fertility treatment provides an advantage for achieving this. Also, there is a possibility to use donated sperm in different fertility treatments as IUI or IVF.
• Important advantage of fertility treatments is that IVF might help to find the cause of unexplained infertility also known as idiopathic infertility. In some cases, the problem lies in correct fertilization. This may not be diagnosed until fertilization is attempted in the laboratory. Although this would be a disappointing outcome, it is better to uncover such problems so that solutions could be reached for future treatment with ICSI.
